Sadly, this is true. I am so glad that Pope Benedict XVI has called for the Year of Faith for us, as Catholics, to learn what is truly written in the documents of Vatican II!
It is sad. There are many people that just dismiss Vatican II because of all the abuses that happened after the Council, however, they’ve never read the documents and don’t really know what they say. Most people would be surprised to learn that most of the stuff they hate about Vatican II was never really in there. It’s just the result of people misinterpreting the documents or maliciously twisting them to further their own agenda. I wish more people could be educated about the documents in order to understand them. Perhaps that’s happening more and more.
