Have you ever been &#8220;Jesus Juked&#8221;?<\/p>\n<p>I discussed these issues with The Twitter Gang, aka <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jonathanfsullivan.com\/\">Jonathan Sullivan<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/scrutinies.blogspot.com\/\">Dorian Speed<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thereligionteacher.com\/podcast-for-catechists-the-catechetical-leader\/?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=twitter&amp;utm_campaign=Feed:+TheReligionTeacher+(The+Religion+Teacher)\" target=\"_blank\">Jared Dees<\/a> on the latest <a href=\"http:\/\/www.catecheticalleader.org\/2010\/11\/episode-007-the-twitter-gang\/\" target=\"_blank\">Catechetical Leader Podcast<\/a>. This is a podcast for catechists, DREs, religion teachers, and other parish leaders.\u00a0Host Jonathan Sullivan invited us to take part in a roundtable discussion on four recent articles relating to catechesis:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.catechist.com\/archive\/articles_view.php?article_id=2671\">There Are Different Gifts: The Ministry of the Coordinator of Religious Education<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.usccb.org\/meetings\/2010Fall\/2010-address-social-media.shtml\">Social Media: Friend or Foe, Google or Hornswoggle?<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mpower28.com\/blog\/?p=52\">Newborn Babies and Adult Volunteers<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/stuffchristianslike.net\/2010\/11\/the-jesus-juke\/\">\u201cThe Jesus Juke\u201d<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please give it a listen! I think you&#8217;ll enjoy the conversation. I know we all did!<\/p>\n<p>The most fascinating thing about this group is that we all met on Twitter, hence the name &#8220;The Twitter Gang.&#8221; I met Jonathan in person once but the rest of us have never met face to face. Yet, as we talked I felt I already knew them pretty well. It&#8217;s funny how much personality can come out on 140 characters at at time. I knew Dorian would say something funny and Jared would have insightful comments. And, I knew their perspectives on things from reading and interacting on their blogs. I really think there&#8217;s value in these online relationships for forming bonds between like minded people. I honestly don&#8217;t think any of us believe this is a substitute for face to face friendships. Nevertheless, these are friendships and would never would have formed if not for our social media interactions.
