This is my first Christmas and New Year season online! I enjoyed all the 2010 \u201crecap\u201d posts before the end of the year and the \u201ctake stock for the new year\u201d posts after the first of the year. One thing that came up over and over again was the need to focus blogging content. Focus, focus, focus! What is my bullseye for content? So, I took a clue from <a href=\"http:\/\/tentblogger.com\/5-things-you-must-do-to-get-your-blog-seo-ready-for-the-new-year\/?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed:+TentBlogger+(TentBlogger)\" target=\"_blank\">Tentblogger<\/a> in particular and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chrisbrogan.com\/my-3-words-for-2011\/?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed:+chrisbrogandotcom+([chrisbrogan.com])\" target=\"_blank\">Chris Brogan<\/a> to figure out what I\u2019m about for 2011.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m going to focus on evangelization and conversion in the next few months. These two things are really the key to everything. Catechetical and <a href=\"http:\/\/marccardaronella.com\/2010\/09\/28\/maintenance-mode-dilemma\/\" target=\"_self\">parish ministry is about conversion<\/a>&#8230;even when it\u2019s not. Catechesis, youth ministry, Bible study, liturgy, parish socials, coffee and donuts and even <a href=\"http:\/\/marccardaronella.com\/2010\/09\/20\/a-culture-of-service\/\" target=\"_self\">how the parish secretary greets people<\/a> when they walk in the door. All of that should be about deeper conversion to Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some blogging series I have planned for 2011:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> A series on \u201cEvangelization Basics.\u201d This is a nuts and bolts look at the fundamentals of how to evangelize. It might surprise you that much of the work of evangelization isn\u2019t about teaching or preaching.<\/li>\n<li>What is the gospel? Many Catholics can&#8217;t articulate succinctly. This series will outline the\u00a0basic core of the Catholic Christian message. This is the content of evangelization, and it&#8217;s really quite different from the Protestant version. It may not all be about preaching and teaching, but it&#8217;s a huge part.<\/li>\n<li>Being an &#8220;evangelizing catechist.&#8221; How catechesis can and almost always should be evangelizing to be effective.<\/li>\n<li>A how-to on really effective prayer. Prayer that is an open and honest conversation with God is truly life-changing and leads to deeper conversion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Well, that&#8217;s where I&#8217;m headed in 2011.
